Maisy is a marine researcher, educator and ocean advocate with years of hands-on experience studying and protecting coral reefs around the world. She holds an MSci in Marine Biology and has led research and conservation projects in Indonesia, the Caribbean and the Philippines, working across coral restoration, marine protected areas and community engagement.
A qualified science teacher and scientific diver, Maisy specialises in making complex marine science clear, engaging and accessible. She has taught people from all backgrounds and levels of experience, from local community members and conservation teams to educators, volunteers and lifelong learners. Her passion lies in helping everyone connect with the ocean, no matter where they begin.
Currently, Maisy is undertaking a PhD focusing on how marine management can support both healthy ecosystems and thriving communities. Her work blends ecology, social science and real-world conservation practice.
In this course, Maisy combines scientific insight with her love for the sea to guide you through the world of coral reefs, inspiring you to understand them, value them and help protect them. 💙
